- Compact bone: solid mass
- Spongy bone or cancellous bone: trabecular, bone marrow
- Bone matrix: osteoid (hydroxyapatite), type I collagen, glycoaminoglycans (GAGs)
- Osteoblasts: secrete bone matrix, basophilic, blue, one nucleus.
